1. Will a chiropractic treatment hurt?
In most cases there is no pain with chiropractic treatment. When there is a lot of swelling, inflammation, and muscle spasms around the involved joint, the treatment may seem uncomfortable. However, the chiropractic treatment is designed to remove this swelling and inflammation resulting in pain relief.
2. Is chiropractic treatment safe for everyone?
Chiropractic treatment is safe for everyone because we can perform a complete orthopedic and neurological exam before treating you. We would not treat you if we didn't believe chiropractic care was safe for you. During our detailed exam we review your specific health history as well. If there are any indications that you need to seek medical attention we would refer you to the proper health care provider for co-management of your care.
3. What can I expect on my first visit to your office?
On your first visit we will perform a detailed health history. This is followed by a complete orthopedic and neurological exam. From here we determine if any further diagnostic studies will be required such as x-rays, M.R.I.’s or other diagnostic tests. If such tests are not required then we will review the cause of your health problem and give you specific treatment and recommendations.
4. Should I go to the chiropractor if I feel fine?
Some people do come to the chiropractor when they are feeling fine. This is done out of prevention for future health problems, even though not all health problems can be prevented. Proper maintenance and care of your body can help prevent major injuries.
5. Would chiropractic care help if I am pregnant?
Chiropractic care has been shown to be effective for many conditions that arise during pregnancy. We work closely with your other health care providers making your pregnancy as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
6. Can young children and infants benefit from treatment?
We have treated patients as young as two months old all the way up to 102 years old. Depending on the age of the patient we design our treatments to fit the appropriate case. We have great success with patients of all ages.
7. Do you take my insurance?
We do take most insurances. If you stop by our office we can call your insurance company to see if we are a provider for your indivdual plan.
